Jennifer Jackson, MD, FACP, IFMCP, is the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Kansas in Wichita, where she is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians for the state of Kansas. Board-certified in internal medicine and hospice and palliative care, Dr. Jackson is also certified by the Obesity Medicine Association and the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Dr. Jackson has a deep passion for research and education, particularly regarding the role of a real food diet and sustainable agricultural practices in promoting human health and addressing environmental issues. In the summer of 2013, she and her family relocated to a 40-acre farm, where they launched a grass-finished cattle and pastured poultry operation. Their farm employs "beyond organic" farming practices and utilizes local distribution channels.
As the founder of KU Wichita Functional Medicine, Dr. Jackson focuses on identifying the root causes of chronic disease and employs a systems-based approach to health. Her work emphasizes intensive lifestyle modifications, microbiome manipulation, and toxin reduction as key strategies for reversing chronic conditions.
