Dr Toms is an Ophthalmologist with a special interest in nutrition, mitochondrial & metabolic health, and the gut-eye axis.

With a background in ophthalmology and functional medicine, Dr Toms brings a unique perspective to the field. By delving into the emerging science of the gut microbiome and nutrition, and its impact on eye health, Dr Toms aims to unlock new avenues for preventive care and personalised treatment strategies.

What to expect
During your consultation with Dr Toms, she will listen carefully to the concerns that you have about your eyes, and will explore your ocular health history as well as your general health history. She will then examine your eyes using diagnostic tests to support any findings and will also focus in on an assessment of your nutritional status.

Dr Toms may then request additional tests to further assist the diagnosis and management plan, including blood tests, gut microbiome testing and food sensitivity testing. She may initiate treatment at your initial visit to the clinic, or may discuss planning treatment strategies once all of the required results are back, which can be done by telephone, video con
