From the practitioner: About My Practice
Our Holistic Functional Medicine approach is science based with an emphasis on assessing and treating the root causes. We take time to listen and consider the whole person with his or her own uniqueness. We implement individually tailored testing and treatments to restore health and well-being. We use a patient centered interdisciplinary approach considering an individual's mind, body and spirit to create a partnership. Lifestyle, exercise, dietary, hormonal, nutritional and herbal supplement recommendations are given in the context of a medical and or nutritional background. Referrals to our Functional Integrative Nutritionist and other practitioners are made when appropriate. This is done in a warm, friendly and relaxed environment.
From the practitioner: What Patients Can Expect
Generally, the first visit with the Doctor or Nutritionist are extensive. During the initial visit, the majority of the time is focused on gathering a thorough history and discussing the patient's reason and goals for seeking treatment. In the latter part of the visit, depending on time and complexity of the issues, the treatment approach is discussed and various options for further testing and lifestyle modifications are reviewed with our Lifestyle Support Team and often our Functional Integrative Nutritionist. Follow-ups are also extended and are spent reviewing health concerns, test results and fine tuning treatment plans and lifestyle modifications often with the team. The goal in treatment is to use natural means whenever possible.
