Overview

The Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that, as the global leader in the field of functional medicine, offers exemplary education and certification. IFM has Accreditation with Commendation awarded by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). IFM offers select international collaborators who have formal registration status in the country of origin, a direct line to IFM programs, services, and benefits. Membership in IFM facilitates a solid understanding of functional medicine, from foundational concepts to application in clinical practice. Membership provides functional medicine education and engagement for clinicians, faculty, staff, students, and residents, with customized benefits designed to address institution-specific needs.

Pricing

The cost of the International Organization Membership is $2,500/year.

Benefits

Dedicated partnership management includes support for contracting, onboarding members, promoting benefits, collaborating to integrate IFM tools and resources, providing customer service, and ensuring visibility on IFM's website. Regionalized programs and pricing are determined in collaboration with IFM and are based on the capacity of the international partner.

Subject to membership terms and conditions, the following benefits and inclusions will apply:

Clinical Resources

  • A curated portal of select IFM Toolkit assets for use with teaching and research.*
  • Additional educational resources available with discounted licensing fees.

* Permitted use of licensed materials may include clinical and patient care, teaching, and research purposes but will be determined on a case-by-case basis between IFM and the member organization.
 

IFM Domestic Programs Discounts**

IFM does not provide continuing education credits for international programs; continuing education credits can be provided at the sole discretion of the international partner organization. 

**Discounts do not apply to fees for continuing medical education (CME) credits.

Scholarships***

A discretionary allocation of scholarship funding for practitioners to attend IFM courses. Scholarships are evaluated by both IFM and the international partner on a case-by-case basis.

  • Each institution is responsible for managing annual scholarship awards.
  • Course discounts apply for enrollments not supported by scholarship funds.
  • Scholarship funds may not be used to cover fees for continuing medical education (CME) credits.
     

*** For the purpose of this agreement, "Scholarship" refers to the waiver of registration fees, excluding CME fees, for IFM core programming for selected individuals.

Subject to the terms and conditions for the Find A Practitioner directory, clinicians may qualify to be listed in this online directory. Each month, over 100,000 new patients search this referral network of health professionals trained in functional medicine.
