Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Community Members,
The waning calendar year often prompts a time of reflection and gratitude. Such reflection forces the question, “What was happening a year ago, and how are things different today?” For many of us, the first thing that may pop into our minds is the void of family and friends we may have experienced one year ago and joy that this year feels different and hopeful. Reconnecting with family this last year tops my list of “Things to Be Grateful For.” And vying for the top spot once again is my gratitude for the team at IFM, my work family. Their commitment to our mission of advancing the widespread adoption of functional medicine for all is at the heart of each team member.
As a Team, we are grateful that interest in functional medicine, nutrition, and personalized approaches to health care continue to grow among patients, consumers, practitioners, and partners worldwide. Every month, we receive more than 65k visits to our Find a Practitioner database, and we have educated nearly 10,000 practitioners in functional medicine this year, reflecting a growing community dedicated to serving diverse patient populations with the highest level of individualized care during unprecedented times and beyond.
As you spend time with your family, friends, and loved ones this winter season, I encourage you to tap in to the mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being practices to fill your cup before you head into another year. And please accept my heartfelt thanks for the critical role you play in improving patient health outcomes and advancing the transformation of health for all individuals.
With deepest gratitude,
Amy R. Mack MSES/MPA
