Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Community Members,

During this time every year, I take a moment to pause and take stock of my professional and personal life. As a woman, mother, wife, daughter, sister, and the CEO of IFM, I savor this time to reflect on what I am most grateful for. This year, for me and likely for many of you, required thoughtful approaches to my work-life balance to stay fully engaged in my many roles. In functional medicine, we stress the importance of balancing modifiable lifestyle factors, and I found myself leaning into practicing these principles to manage the pressures of everyday life. Striving to incorporate activities such as yoga, meditation, Peloton biking, and daily walks with our new dog and finding ways to reflect on what I am grateful for also improved my mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

So what am I grateful for this year? I am grateful for my husband, our son, our new puppy, my family, and my friends for being supportive of me in everything I do. I am grateful to work alongside the most dedicated group of individuals and leaders in the field of functional medicine so that we may advance functional medicine patient care worldwide for all populations. And I am thankful to each of you for playing critical roles in delivering functional medicine care to patients worldwide.

Taking this moment to pause and reflect on my gratitude list is powerful and allows me to close out this year and gear up for next year with a full and happy heart. I encourage you to find a moment to pause and reflect on your gratitude list, and I hope you experience a similar lift.

Thank you to each of you, and we look forward to continuing our critically important work together in 2023.
