Meet Michelle Harreld, a strengths-based leader and systems thinker with 15 years of experience in healthcare and human services. As a director of medical education at IFM, she brings a broad background and diverse skillset to her position, including individual & group education and service delivery, research coordination and data auditing, mental health & food systems policy and program advocacy, and community and nonprofit leadership. Michelle combines principles and practices from social & behavioral science and nutrition to oversee the development of educational resource content, leads the implementation of standards across the organization, and supports functional medicine–related research activities in the field.

Michelle lives in Iowa with her partner, Chad, and their Boston Bulldog named Jude. When not at work, she can be found eating and advocating for local food, listening to live music, or reading nonfiction while sitting in the passenger seat of her vintage Winnebago on the way to another adventure with her family.
