Liz Grater
Liz Grater is a leader in the field of credentialing, test development, certification standards, and assessment best practices. As director of credentialing, Liz leads the development, analysis, and evaluation, as well as oversees and implements plans and policies that promote the delivery of, our evolving functional medicine certification and credentialing programs, available to licensed practitioners domestically and internationally.
Liz has over 17 years of experience managing professional certification programs according to testing industry accreditation standards and best practices and was the 2023 recipient of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (I.C.E.) Chair Commendation Award. Prior to joining IFM, she served as COO of the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE), where she led the launch of the Certification Commission governing the lactation consultant board certification as part of a significant organizational restructuring. In addition to IBLCE, she has held leadership roles for a variety of certification programs and professions, including IT certifications at Cisco Systems, where she achieved third-party accreditation for four certification programs, as well as the HR Certification Institute, where she directed a portfolio of eight domestic and international programs for the human resources profession and successfully maintained the programs’ third-party accreditation.
When not at work, you can find Liz adventuring outdoors or doing yoga, where the challenge of a mountain reminds her that all things in life and work are accomplished one step at a time, as well as embracing mindfulness practices that enable her to bring a calm and steady approach to teamwork, problem solving, and change management.
