Michael Stone MD, MS, IFMCP Received his undergraduate and graduate Degrees in nutrition, Medical Degree from University of Washington, received board certification in Family Medicine following Residency and Fellowship at UCLA. Practiced ER medicine, Chronic Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine, and helped start a hospitalist program while practicing Functional Medicine in Primary care since 1998 in Ashland Oregon through 2023. He was awarded the Innovators Award by Metagenics in 2018, and the Linus Pauling Award from The Institute for Functional Medicine in 2019.

His areas of research spearheaded by Dr. Leslie Stone, his spouse, and Emily Rydbom their daughter, has included application of the functional medicine model to pregnancy to decrease the main morbidities in pregnancy, preterm birth, small and large for gestational birthweight, gestational diabetes and maternal stress associated conditions. Their work has been successful in Oregon and Nevada high risk populations.  Nutrition research has included the nutrition evaluation of children in the Kwae Noi Watershed, Thailand, and most recently with LIFEHOUSE- Lifestyle Intervention and Functional Evaluation Health Outcomes SurvEy. He has been very involved in the development of the N-Sight nutrition program and its tools developed by IFM.  He is currently a PI and Sub I in Clinical research at Velocity Clinical Research.

He continues to be the Medical Adviser for Office of Personalized Health and Well Being Univ. of Georgia Athens while consulting in functional medicine. His focus is on developmental programming of health not disease, building resiliency and reversing cardiometabolic syndrome, the ABCD of Nutrition Evaluation, and the Mouth Body Health connection. He continues to teach, educate, and mentor clinicians in the US and abroad.
