Kelly McCarron, PsyD
Dr. Kelly McCarron is a neuropsychologist who has worked in the Department of Veterans Affairs since 2007 with a focus on post-deployment health, traumatic brain injury, psychological trauma, and rare and medically unexplained conditions. In Dr. McCarron’s current role at the NJ War Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC), she conducts neuropsychological assessments for Veterans with complex, chronic post-deployment health conditions. Her research has focused on social rehabilitation for Veterans with traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress disorder, integrative medicine, and Gulf War illness. She currently leads the NJ WRIISC’s Institutional Courage Initiative, which studies experiences of institutional betrayal and institutional courage among Veterans and VA healthcare providers and promotes moral courage in research, education, and clinical care.
