Elizabeth Board, MD
Dr. Elizabeth Board is a board certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Medicine physician who currently practices non-narcotic pain management, acupuncture and Functional Medicine fulltime. She was the second MD to be certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine in Georgia and is a frequent facilitator for IFM. She is the founder of Atlanta Functional Medicine, a clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia where she collaborates with a group of talented functional medicine practitioners to seek the root cause of illness and dysfunction and create personalized treatment plans for a variety of health concerns.
After practicing as a Pain management physician, Dr. Board became interested in alternative therapies of pain improvement without the use of steroids and opiates. This led her to learn acupuncture and Functional Medicine.
Areas of particular interest include: polycystic ovarian syndrome, osteoporosis, neurocognitive recovery, addiction recovery, gastrointestinal imbalances and their connection to neurocognitive symptoms, weight loss, cardiovascular risk reduction, non-narcotic pain management, hormone imbalances, endometriosis recovery, and teaching patients and interested practitioners.
Dr. Board lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and enjoys running, cycling, skiing and traveling.
